Maintenance recommendations

Using gloves means taking care! Our recommendations are summarised in 3 points:
Personal use

Any glove can be contaminated by the germs, bacteria and microbes carried by the user. To avoid this risk, gloves must be kept strictly for use by one person, even after washing.

Washing and cleaning

All Showa Best gloves can be washed at 40°C with a neutral washing product (pH ≥ 5), without completely filling the machine for better stain removal. Tests have shown that their mechanical performance is retained after three washes, but this of course depends on the degree of wear, which the user should check.

Checking for wear

Each user should monitor the state of his/her gloves and throw them away as soon as they become worn. Wear could be due to mechanical effects: tears, cuts, pricks, puncturing, abrasion of the surface or of anti-slip raised sections through repeated rubbing … On models which protect against oil and chemicals, the action of these substances can cause softening, hardening or cracking whereby the gloves lose their physical properties.

SPECIAL NOTES FOR ANTISTATIC GLOVES

The antistatic properties of certain Showa gloves are retained after five washes but diminish beyond this. To retain maximum antistatic protection, use a gentle washing product (pH ≥ 5), do not wash at more than 40°C and leave to dry naturally.
